Darija Šimunović is a Bosnian-German cultural studies scholar and has been responsible for the video art collection and its distribution at the IMAI Foundation since 2010. She studied Sciences of Art, Language and Communication, and Cultural Informatics at the University of Lüneburg (MA). From 2003 to 2005, she was a research trainee at the Institute for Visual Media at the ZKM—Center for Art and Media in Karlsruhe, where she also worked as an art educator at the Media Museum. After further professional stations at the Hartware MedienKunstVerein (HMKV) in Dortmund and at the TU Dortmund University, she started working as a research associate for IMAI. At IMAI and as a freelance curator, she has organized numerous cultural projects, screenings, and art exhibitions. Her publications and research are dedicated to, among other things, the materiality of ephemeral art forms and the history of video art.
