Wasting Time on the Internet
with NEOZOON
The NEOZOON collective of women artists (founded 2009, now lives and works between Berlin and Dresden) has been working with the de- and recontextualization of YouTube videos for many years. They work primarily on sociological questions concerning speciesism in the Anthropocene. The artists studied together at the HBK Braunschweig and have shown their works at the Kunstmuseum Bonn, the ZKM Karlsruhe, the KW Berlin, and at the Centre Pompidou in Paris, among other places Their videos are also regularly represented in film festivals such as the Internationale Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen, Anthology Film Archives in New York, and the International Film Festival Rotterdam.
