The video program is dedicated to a self-recorded VHS tape with works by Claudia Richarz, Nina Rippel, and Ulrike Zimmermann from the mid-1980s. For a long time, it was unclear how the video cassette ended up in the IMAI archive and how the works on the tape came together. The cassette was only labeled “Touristinnen” (tourists), meaning that the artists and their works had previously remained hidden from the archivists. Stories of a Cassette shows the three interwoven works about a siren, a swimmer, and a princess. The program gives a foretaste of the exhibition “I Don't Pay Your Price - Queer Feminist Interventions with the Video Camera”, which will be on display at Lore Deutz from 8 November to 8 December.
