The exhibition I Don’t Pay Your Price presents videos from the 1980s and 1990s. For a long time, these videos received little attention. Until recently, they lay dormant in the estate of the Cologne-based video art distributor 235. As part of a research project, the IMAI Foundation worked through this estate and selected the videos presented here. They can be understood as queer feminist interventions in the video art of their time; as the title—borrowed from the line of a song by the band Malaria!—suggests, they are also a rejection of the patriarchally structured art scene.
