Image description

A clear blue sky occupies most of the frame, with a narrow cloud formation and a diagonal aircraft contrail stretching across it. Leafless trees line the right edge of the image and appear in the background. The perspective suggests that the scene was captured while traveling through an open landscape. At the bottom of the frame, the subtitle reads: "Die Geige wird in der Sonne lauter" (i.e.“The violin gets louder in the sun”).

Colloquium

The colloquium of the Working Group for Inclusive Art History focuses on critical perspectives on power in art history as well as questions of accessibility in archives and exhibition spaces. IMAI research fellow Judith Greitemann presents her project “Re-Accessing Audiovisual Archives.” In it, she examines how Aesthetics of Access can be applied as an artistic practice to digital audiovisual archives. Initial works from the IMAI archive demonstrate experimental approaches through subtitling, audio description, and sign language as artistic interventions.
