The Filmwerkstatt is only accessible via stairs with a handrail. A limited number of parking spaces are available, and on-site assistance can be provided. A gender-neutral restroom is located directly next to the Filmwerkstatt, and the nearest wheelchair-accessible restroom is in the nearby Philara collection, available on request. Please feel free to contact us in advance if you require assistance. Feel free to get in touch with us beforehand if we can support your visit.

Documentation

The basement of the Filmwerkstatt is almost completely dark. Only a few floor lamps illuminate the room, where several wooden chairs are arranged for listening to KMRU’s four-channel sound installation.

On the dark blue wall of the Filmwerkstatt hangs a large black loudspeaker, from which KMRU’s FOLD I is being played.

A surreal collage featuring the singer Hermoine Zittlau. Against violet-beige wallpaper, she is dressed as a queen in an extravagant red-gold dress and an ermine coat. To the left is a small window; to the right, the sign language poet Gunter Trube appears as her royal advisor. His positioning and pose make him seem slightly detached from the space. On the bottom left corner, part of a face can be seen with open mouth. Superimposed onto the image is the subtitle: “Her Majesty should listen in disguise.”

Sounds in public space
