The IMAI Foundation releases a new Videostill-Edition in 2015, for which ten international artists from the IMAI’s distribution program selected motifs from their works.

For Düsseldorf Photo Weekend the IMAI Foundation presented the new limited Videostill-Edition in the exhibition same same but different in late January 2015.
Still images from important analog and digital videos created between the 1990s and today are transferred to the medium of photography. No direct translation into the photographic takes place, however. Rather, the moving images are recognizable in the motifs as the origin and source of the large-format photographic prints. To that end the artists selected different approaches and interpretations of the initial material. In the sublime combination of still image and movement, of photography and video, a characteristic quality of media and material results in the newly created works of art.
