For the 15th anniversary of IMAI, we have chosen a special form of publication: the fanzine - or zine for short. It is an alternative publication that has been produced in small editions by amateurs since the 1970s and is primarily used for communication within subcultures. Zines are lovingly designed by their makers, exchanged between them, and help reinforce the networking of the community in a special way. The early distribution activity of 235 Media, which laid the foundation for today's IMAI collection, was also largely determined by the zine. We take this as an opportunity to revive this form of publication.

The first IMAI Zine gathers essays, artistic contributions, and memories of the foundation's companions who are closely connected to its history.
With contributions by Renate Buschmann, Katja Davar, Kathrin Dreckmann, Hiroko Kimura-Myokam, Jessica Nitsche, Marcel Odenbach, Hedda Schattanik & Roman Szczesny, Linnea Semmerling, Darija Šimunović und Elke Zobl.
