COBRA
In cooperation with the video art festival Transitions, which took place in Maastricht from March 9 - 14 2023, IMAI showed the video work COBRA by Israeli artists Reut Shemesh and Ronni Shendar at the Muziekgieterij. COBRA (2021/22) brings together two worlds of expression that rarely touch: traditional German carnival ‘Garde’ dancing and contemporary art. At the work’s core lies the manifestation of gender roles and female representation during traditional carnival festivities.
