This exhibition brings together works of art that raise questions about the future of their material. The materiality of these works is based on technologically processed—and sometimes not localizable—information sources and extends to visualizations and intensely perceived spaces of knowledge, communication, and projection. The artists use digital media technologies to transfer the supposedly known to new contexts, use light as a data storage medium, and weigh synergistic experiments between art and science or play with our perception in mixing real and virtual spaces.

With works by Michael Bielicky & Kamila B. Richter, Alexander Hahn, Gary Hill, Mader Wiermann, Van McElwee, Agnes Meyer-Brandis, Lutz Mommartz, Jill Scott, Stansfield/Hooykaas, and Steina and Woody Vasulka.
